Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Ploeg: with a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader, on a large or small screen. Here is what we do for that.

Our standard

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the standard behind the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549). We test with the keyboard, at 360 pixels wide and at 200 % zoom.

What we do

Every page has a clear structure with headings, a link to skip straight to the content, a visible focus, fields with labels and error messages at the field itself, and enough colour contrast in the light and dark themes. The rota is a real table: a screen reader reads, per shift, who, which day and which hours. A pin colour always comes with the name, never alone.

Reading aids

With the button with the little figure at the top of every page you choose larger text, more space between lines and letters, a readable typeface, more contrast, underlined links, less motion or a reading ruler. Your choice is kept on your device.

What is not perfect yet

On a narrow screen the week rota scrolls sideways, with the names always in view. If you prefer to read day by day, print the week or open it as CSV.

Make the site easier to read. Your choice is saved on this device.

Text size

Prefer your device’s own settings (zoom, screen reader, dark mode)? They work here too.
